Life Update: New Job, Styling Heels Casually and Announcement
Sharing where the heck I have been and where I am going!!

The last time I touched this newsletter, I had just finished my first job interview with a New York organization that creates internship opportunities for court-involved youth. After two years of basically being retired (spending one of them writing All-Year Season), followed by a rigorous five-round interview process, I am starting my new job tomorrow! I will tell you all about it, but first, let’s catch up.
~
Lately, I have spent my last days of freelance freedom attempting to relax. Reading makes it easier:
‘The Use of Photography’ by Annie Ernaux and Marc Marie, pictured here on a Floof pillow.
While my day-to-day uniform still consists of Madewell jeans, a Uniqlo T-shirt and socks, a Kapital coat, Goldstories necklace and Vogue Runway tote bag, I have recently added these shoes from New York-brand Alterre:
A funky heel or statement coat (or both!) can instantly make an outfit interesting. These Alterre shoes feature interchangeable straps.
Being (basically) retired means dressing casually a lot. It can get boring and depressing to rewear the same old pieces, or believe there’s no reason to throw on heels unless you’re going somewhere fancy. While the practical reality is that most of us are not refreshing our wardrobes every fashion cycle, wearing a short heel when I would typically reach for sneakers feels powerful even in everyday attire.
Below, two casual spring looks that incorporate heels:
Heading out for the day wearing a Uniqlo x Ines de la Fressange shirt and Uniqlo pants and socks, Kapital coat, Kate Spade bag, Able rings, Goldstories necklace and Alterre shoes.

Tomorrow will be my first day as an Internship Coordinator at exalt, where I will be partnering with businesses, primarily in media and fashion, to create internships for youth who are court-involved. This is a full-circle moment.
I started All-Year Season with the intention of chipping away at barriers to the fashion world by sharing my authentic experiences within the industry. Now, partially due to this newsletter, I will be at an organization that enables me to keep working at my mission on a larger scale. This new chapter means that my posts may pause for a period, but I will keep you in the loop on the relevant happenings regarding my work and this website. This small community that started right here kept my head up through the most uncertain years of my life so far. For that, I thank you so much for being here.
With that, All-Year Season will be on a break while I get my bearings in this new, very exciting role. I hope that we stay connected, and please, always feel free to reach out to me if you would like to chat. x
Yours Truly,
Kyoko
I am not compensated for the features listed in All-Year Season. My sincerest thank you to Alterre, Goldstories and Uniqlo for supporting the creation of this post.
